One Of My New Favorite Soap Makers...Meet Bathhouse Soapery & Caldarium!

In my recent hunt for new and interesting bath products, I happened upon a really awesome shop in Hot Springs, Arkansas, called Bathhouse Soapery & Caldarium.

This shop features soap and bathing products of spa quality, all hand-made by it's owner, Charlene Simon. Now first let me just say how much of a doll Charlene is! I wrote an email to Charlene a few weeks back asking about a particular line of soaps called the Confection collection to find out if she had anymore that she'd be willing to sell, since I was really wanting to try some out. I told her about my ordeal with one shop in particular where I had first discovered her products, and that I was really looking forward to finding some to try. Charlene emailed me right back, and offered to send me one of the very soaps I was hoping to try, because she felt bad about my experience with the aforementioned E-tailer. As I began to look around her website, I discovered her drool-worthy foaming body scrubs. These, similarly to the whipped body soaps by Savor I wrote about in a previous blog entry, look and smell like dessert!

The foaming body scrubs come in a variety of Scents, such as:

Belgian Waffles
Italian Fig & French Lavender
Milk
Pineapple Buttercream
Spumoni (named after the Italian dessert)
Spun Sugar
Sweet Honey
...and many more!!

Currently, I am the proud owner of the Spumoni scrub, which, I have to control myself and try to not eat it with a spoon. The texture of this scrub, is like nothing I've ever experienced in a body scrub; It's thick, almost like Marshmallow fluff, with lots of granulated sugar blended in, except it's not sticky at all. The scent is seriously a perfect imitation of the dessert, with cherry, chocolate and Pistachio notes blending perfectly together. As far as results, it's AMAZING! The sugar granules exfoliate the skin, and leave your skin feeling silky soft, moisturized, and smelling like a delectable dessert!

When I received my package of the Spumoni scrub the other day, Charlene included not only the complimentary carrot cake soap that I had initially been looking for, but she also included a mini pecan donut soap, and a generous sample of her Euclid St. Rhubarb soap. She has so many more yummy looking products I want to try, and I am already plotting my next order! I think this time I am going to go for the Pineapple butter-cream scrub, and the Chocolate chip cookie dough soap!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Soap:

Soaps and Scrubs aside, she also has a new line of at-home facial masks for each individual skin type, that can give you even more of a spa-like experience at home!

If you decide to pop over to Bathhouse Soapery and make an order, email Charlene at: charlene@bathhousesoap.com, and tell her that Bree from the SharkTubby blog sent you!
